DAVID HARBER HONOURS GEORGE HARRISON AT CHELSEA

David Harber designed a special water wall with a life size photograph of George Harrison for the former Beatle's memorial garden, From Life To Life, A Garden for George, at RHS Chelsea 2008.

George Harrison water wall at RHS chelsea 2008The water wall stood at the end of a rill that signals the start of the last spiritual level of the Garden.

The garden was divided into sections representing the stages of George's life: his Liverpool boyhood with a mini-allotment and a boy's bicycle; a riot of colourful flowers for the psychedelic 60s; a quiet green area for Harrison's mature years; and finally the spiritual level with white and red plants and an ornate pavillion.

The water wall features a photo of Harrison taken in the 60s with an umbrella behind the streaming wall of water — a tribute to his notable sense of humour.

The photograph was printed onto film and then applied to glass. On top of this, special optical film applied to another glass layer meant that the image of Harrison appeared and disappeared, depending on the angle of the viewer.

Picture water walls, using the same technology and your own photos, are now part of David Harber's range of water walls.

David Harber's stand at RHS Chelsea 2008David Harber's own stand was a verdant hideaway with sundials, garden sculptures and water features emerging from the greenery.

David's new ornaments for the summer were very much in evidence: the Matrix garden sphere on the right, the Three-tiered Chailice at the end of the path; and at the back, the Petal wall water feature.

The stand was awarded a Certificate of Merit, given to exhibits staged to exceptionally high standards of presentation.

Once again, the stand was designed for David Harber by Echinops Garden Design.
